Robot Aerobics

ABOUT THIS SESSION

Elby the Robot is teaching a dance fitness class - but there’s just one problem: He doesn’t know how to dance! Help the CodeJoy team program some moves for Elby, and get fit along with us. Students will code a robot to dance, and in so doing, also control adults who are following the robot!

CodeJoy participants will learn the basics of coding position motors and creating sequences using Makecode.

CLASS WITH CODEJOY

TIMING: 30-45 minutes. This session includes approximately 30 minutes of instruction plus Q&A time afterward.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: A computer or Chromebook is required for students to interact with our in-studio robots. Your district tech department should make sure the following websites are “white labeled,” or unblocked: codejoy.live, microbit.makecode.org

AUDIENCE: Ideal for students between the ages of 7 and 13 years old. Sessions can serve large or small audiences, from a single classroom to an entire district!
